Nathan Bedford Forrest Camp 1353

Hattiesburg, Mississippi

The Sons of Confederate Veterans organization is preserving the history and legacy of our Southern heroes so that future generations can understand the motives that animated the Southern Cause.   There is no other group who defends our ancestors but us.

The sons of Confederate Veterans is divided into Divisions corresponding  to the states, to better serve the needs of local members.  Each Division is split into Brigades for more advanced local interaction.  At the local level are the Camps to which individual members belong.  Camp 1353 is named for Lt. General Nathan Bedford Forrest, commemorating our location in Forrest County, Mississippi.  We serve the area surrounding Hattiesburg and maintain a membership of about 100 members.

Please look over our website and find images of our members in action.  You will also find meeting dates and other dates and sites of interest, including reenactments, memorial services and happenings at Beauvoir, the last home of President Jefferson Davis, which is a National Historical site that is owned by the Mississippi Division.
